  • Job description, rights and responsibilities:
    Working directly under the head chef you will have a large amount of responsibility in our kitchen, including managing all other kitchen staff and ensuring all prepared food meets quality standards.
    Sous Chef Duties and Responsibilities
    • Manage kitchen staff, including providing necessary direction and training
    • Assist with the preparation and design of menus
    • Make sure that all plates that leave the kitchen meet taste and design standards
    • Ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently, effectively, and professionally, in accordance with our high-quality standards. • Schedule employees to ensure that the kitchen is adequately staffed at all necessary times
    • Take control to quickly resolve any issues or problems that arise in the kitchen
    • Maintain kitchen inventory and order supplies
    • Confirm compliance with all sanitation and health and safety standards
    • Fill in for the executive chef when necessary

    Notes:
    The premise is very highly regarded.
    Recently refurbished, the hotel currently operates Cruises Pub, has recently opened a coffee shop and is due to open a new restaurant in early April.
    The kitchen team is currently being rebuilt to allow it to take on this extra level of business.
  • Other benefits:
    - Gross Salary: €35,000
    Please note standard tax in Ireland is 20% up to €33,800, 40% on the remaining salary after for a single person. This can vary depending on marital status and tax
    - Accommodation can be provided initially to allow the candidate time to get set up with someplace to stay.
Job requirements
  • Education requirements:
    secondary school with A-levels
  • Education area:
    3rd Level Diploma (Level 7)
  • Required experience:
    3-5 years

    • Ability to effectively manage, direct, and lead a team
    • Strong communication abilities, with employees, vendors, and customers

    • Solid understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and related processes
